Busy Growing Girl!

It has been a busy few weeks for Jemma! Today, the day before her 9-month birthday, we went to the doctor and she weighed in at a hefty 13 pounds, 12 ounces! And she is a lanky 26 inches long. She is definitely making us work for every bite of food she finally takes! But it's worth it.

Our little peanut butter cup is trying to crawl and walk all at the same time. She loves to stand up while holding onto something, she'll be cruising in no time. And she melts our hearts with all her "Mama"s and "Dada"s, as well as when she lays her head down on ur shoulders. Her smile lights up a room. Her favorite toy at the moment is a toy egg carton with little squeaky eggs inside.

She loves her baths, but she is determined to crawl right out of the tub, and gets quite angry that we don't let her stand up. We have a sneaking suspicion that we may have a little dare-devil on our hands.

Future Art History Major, Perhaps?

Today Jack, Jemma and I went to the doctor for Jemma's appointment. As we were walking down the hallway at the doctor's office with one of the medical assistants, we passed by an open exam room that had a print of Matisse's "Goldfish" hanging on the wall. Jack glanced into the room and said "Hey! Look! A Matisse!". The medical assistant stopped looked at me and said, "He did NOT just say what I think he said." I looked at him, and very proudly (although attempting to be modest) said, "Uh, well, yeah. He did." The medical assistant then ran to the front office with us trailing behind him and loudly and excitedly told the entire front office staff that they would never believe what Jack just said, and he proceeded to tell the story. I attempted to play it down and said, "Well, he has a Matisse book. I mean, he can't do that with every painting he sees." I couldn't have been prouder.
